About Cloud X

Hi, I’m Michelle and I’m a qualified Chartered Accountant and fellow member of the ICAEW in England and Wales.  For over 20 years now I have worked in various roles within the accounting profession from training with KPMG (one of the Big 4 practices in the world) to a small local accounting practice to allow me to spend time with my children.

I love helping people get the most from their accounts and seeing how quality information can really drive business decisions and allow them to maximise their potential.

Developments in technology over the years have seen huge changes to the way the profession operates – I started with manual records when I was training and we even had to check balances manually and tick them in a particular colour.  Seems archaic now and thankfully things have evolved a lot!

My degree at Birmingham University was in Maths & Computer Science so I’ve always had an interest in how IT can be used to make the accounting process more efficient.

That’s why I love Xero because it was developed with both accountants and business users in mind.  It provides the information accountants need to do their calculations and compliance reporting, but is very intuitive to use and has some great time-saving features and integrations to make it easy for business owners to manage their own records and also drive their business forward.

I wanted to start Cloud X Ltd to enable me to take all my knowledge and experience and provide a modern approach to accounting.  It doesn’t have to just be a necessary evil once a year.  By embracing the technology available today, you can realise the benefits of up-to-date, relevant information at your fingertips and I want to help you do just that.  It will also facilitate a smooth transition to MTD reporting being phased in by HMRC over the coming years.

I am Xero certified and have extensive experience working with the system.  I can share helpful tips or offer more extensive training as well as advice on implementation and configuration.

I also want to offer you a complete accounting service so of course Cloud X can provide all the usual compliance and tax services you’d expect to find.
